Another terrific cover for my confession that takes place in China.
When Lili Soo Chen became pregnant, she was forced to make the most important decision of her life. Though China implemented strict birth control laws during the 1980’s to curb its overpopulation for the greater good, they were not uniformly regulated and often became abusive. Because Lili Soo had become pregnant without the permission of her supervisor in the hotel where she worked, she was told to have an abortion. However, if she has that abortion, she might never be able to conceive again. And if she didn’t, she’d become an enemy of the state subject to imprisonment and heavy fines.
